The Italian Flag

We have been looking at the Italian flag. We talked about the colours of the flag and what we thought they meant.

We then found out that there are 2 meanings for the colours of the flag.

The first is:

Green for the Italian landscape

White for the snow on the Alps
Red for the blood of the Italian people in the battles for independence.

The second is:

Green for faith

White for hope

Red for charity.

We then made our own flag showing the meanings by drawing pictures to represent the colours and writing the words in pasta!
