We started off by looking at different buildings in Rome and in particular fountains. Then using our sketch books, we made sketches of fountains using oil pastels. We then used a water based paint to sweep over the top. The oil in the pastel resisted the paint form sticking where it was applied and the vibrant pictures showed through.
After play we learnt how to stencil, using fabric paints, onto banners. Here are some photos of what we have achieved so far:
